Reviews
Well located for a stay in the village. Rooms for the price are adequate though the room we had could certainly do with an update in the bathroom and a closer eye on the dust on surfaces such as windows and plugs and sockets. Very friendly and helpful front desk staff though some of the other staff seemed to prefer to avoid guests requests rather than interact. The attached restaurant serves a very good value breakfast to guests at the weekend for only $13.

We stayed here for a week. Quad room was spacious enough for the 3 of us. Probably the biggest hotel room in NYC! We had a corner room on a lower floor with view of the street and park.
Unfortunately there was construction everyday starting at 0730 except Sat and Sun. I don’t recall being warned of this and it definitely impacted our stay. We were woken up to loud obnoxious street construction 5/6 days
All this being said, the cost of the hotel reflected this, as the room and location would have likely been double anywhere else.
The hotel is a solid 3 star hotel.
Bed is firm but not hard - I like a soft bed and this was not uncomfortable.
This is an old hotel family owned - if you’re expecting 5 stars for a 3 star price you would be disappointed.
I am very satisfied even with the construction issue we would hands down stay here again.
Our favorite place to stay in New York! Rooms are not large but perfectly fine and charming. Old world charm and classic and the staff is fantastic. Location couldn’t be better in the heart of the village. And they haven’t raised their prices like so many places around them. Highly recommend!
Such a charming old hotel in a perfect location!
The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is old and the rooms are small but clean and comfortable. The bathroom was clean and modern, and the shower was heavenly. The bed was so comfortable! Thank you for a lovely stay.
Lovely hotel! Fabulous location. Friendly staff (The doorman is my favorite. Loved that he said “welcome home” every time I returned). Pricing seemed reasonable and better than other hotels. I would stay again!
We had the best experience at the Washington Square Hotel! We couldn’t stop talking about the friendliness of the staff and the location. I personally think this hotel is great for a younger crowd as you’re really close to night life like the comedy cellar and younger crowds due to the vicinity to NYU. The rooms get pitch black when curtains and pulled and very quiet at night which is hard to find in NY and we really appreciated that! Would recommend
Absolutely quaint hotel. Built in the 1920 and details are great. Rooms are small, but who needs a big room to only sleep. Location is perfect. Close to subway and across the street from the park. Very quiet area. Best feature is Ronnie - the day time hotel manager. He's like our new best friend.
Art deco design welcomes you in the lobby. The rooms are decent. It's across from Washington Square Park. There are lots of options with bars and restaurants all within walking distance.
